A POLO player who appeared on a television dating programme is hoping a mystery letter will lead to love.

Adrian Caplen is hoping to get in contact with a woman from the Bosham area who sent him a birthday and Christmas card after he appeared on ITV1’s Take Me Out last December.

The programme works by getting potential suitors to impress a group of women with their chat, skills and appearance. The women then show their interest by leaving a light on – or switch it off if they are not.

Adrian, from Froxfield, near Petersfield, suffered the first ‘blackout’ of the series – where all the girls switch off their lights – but afterwards received several letters, including one that read: ‘Adrian – star of Take Me Out, 10 guitars and two cats, Froxfield, Hampshire. Postie, this will be a good challenge for you.’

Despite not having an address, the letter did make it to Mr Caplen and he thanked the lady by text message, but because of his personal circumstances at the time did not meet up with her.

He is now keen to track her down but is having difficulty.

He said: ‘She seemed right up my street, she was horsey and we seemed to have a lot in common.

‘I know she is a management accountant in the Chichester area, and has a horse or horses, and lived in the Bosham area, aged in her thirties. Unfortunately I have nothing more to go on.’
