SHE’s done it again – ‘Daring’ Doris Long has broken her own world record for being the world’s oldest abseiler.
The 101-year-old descended the Spinnaker Tower for a third time this afternoon.
Doris, from Hayling Island, said: ‘If someone were to ask me if I’m mad, I’d probably have to agree with them.
‘I do it because I want to raise money for The Rowan’s Hospice and I like abseiling. It’s becoming a bit of a habit now.’
Crowds gathered to cheer Daring Doris as she made the 100m descent.
Although the weather was miserable Doris made it to the bottom with finesse.
Chief executive of The Rowans Ruth White, said: ‘We are in awe of her. She really is phenomenal.
‘Most people who go abseiling with her don’t have the courage to do it.
‘She’s the one helping them get down!’
When asked if she had any challenges for the future daredevil Doris, said: ‘Only time will tell.’
