AN ANIMAL shelter is desperately seeking unwanted chairs – for its cats.

The Stubbington Ark shelter at Ranvilles Lane in Stubbington, takes hundreds of cats each year for rehoming.

But these moggies enjoy using the old patio furniture as somewhere to relax.

Head of fundraising at the Ark Vanessa Eden said: ‘The chairs are needed for the many cats we have at the shelter.

‘The cats love to sit and lie on them and don’t care if they are old and shabby looking, white, green or luminous pink. If anyone is thinking of replacing theirs with some new garden furniture, then please give us a call.

‘We’re able to collect.’

To arrange collection of your plastic patio chairs contact Mrs Eden on (01329) 666916 or deliver them to the Ark, which is open seven days a week, from 10am to 4pm.

The Ark has a catchment of 400 square miles and costs more than £2,500 a day to run. For more information go to
