IT’S incredible what can be found gathering dust in a garage.
This beautiful model of a frigate built in India in 1854 for the East India Company was found as Hilary Bolt and her helpers were preparing for an auction in Emsworth.
The auction, featuring more than 250 lots, takes place in the parish hall, Church Path, on Saturday.
Auctioneer Mrs Bolt said: ‘We have plenty of information about the ship, thanks to an old piece of paper which came with it, yet we know absolutely nothing about the person who made this delightful model. But it’s this sort of quirky item which makes our annual auction so much fun.’
Viewing is from 11am with the sale starting at 2pm. Entrance is £1.
