AN EVENT will bring the community together and celebrate a field’s newly-acquired protected status.

Tomorrow, Show on the Green, organised by Sarisbury Green Community Association, will be held on Sarisbury Green in Fareham, from midday to 4pm.

At 1.45pm, a dedication and plaque unveiling will be made by councillor Sean Woodward, leader of Fareham Borough Council, to celebrate the green’s new status as a permanently protected Field in Trust.

Executive member for leisure and community councillor Sue Bell said: ‘The unveiling of the plaque during Show on the Green will be a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the securing
of the green as a recreational space for generations to
come.’
