The 14th century replica of the Portsmouth Charter will go on display at the city’s museum from Friday, April 19.

The move outlined the king’s wish for the city to develop as a ‘royal town’, granting permission for a 15-day fair to be held in August and a market on a Thursday every week.

To celebrate, a team of knights and historical re-enactors will storm the city museum on Saturday, April 27.
