Have your say

IT’S time for photographers to dust off their camera lenses and get creative.

We’re urging as many of you as possible to take photos on Saturday, July 20 to be in for a chance of winning The News’ One Summer’s Day competition.

Your snap could be of a sunrise or sunset, wildlife or something you’re doing on that day.

As long as your shot reflects a typical summer’s day then it will be considered.

The person who takes the winning shot will win a fantastic three-night weekend break for up to six-people at Selsey-based Bunn Leisure.

The runner gets a four-night midweek break for up to six people.

Bunn Leisure recommends taking a picture at its stunning new £17m beach which visitors can enjoy for the first time this summer.

Andy Hunt, of Farlington, Portsmouth, was crowned last year’s winner after he took a stunning snap of his children William and Abigail splashing in the sea off Hayling Beach.

At the time, Andy said: ‘I never thought I would win.

‘I wasn’t going to enter the competition at first, but I decided to at the last minute because it’s a lovely picture of my children.’

Coming in second place was John Dunford, of Meadowbank Road, Fareham, with his picture of two men fishing at Hayling Beach.

Email your prints to or post them to The News, 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Western Road, Portsmouth, PO6 3EN.

Only images taken on Saturday, July 20 will be considered. Please include your full name, address and daytime contact number, plus a description of what and who is in the picture.

We’re also encouraging people to send us short video clips of things they get up to during the day, although these won’t be considered as part of the competition.

The break must be taken outside of August and dates are subject to availability.

Caravans are self-catering and the prize doesn’t include food and drink.

Transport and travel insurance is not included.

There is no cash alternative.
