Southsea veteran is half-way through 500-mile walk

VETERAN Alan Sadler is now halfway through his 500-mile walk to raise awareness for post-traumatic stress disorder.The 58-year-old is currently in North Yorkshire with around 21 days left of his journey after he left Portsmouth last month to walk to Edinburgh.Alan, from Southsea, suffers from PTSD and hopes the challenge will raise awareness for the condition. He said: '˜I've enjoyed concentrating on a specific goal and it has certainly taken my mind off my depression. '˜I'm doing this journey not only for myself but to also get donations for the Royal British Legion.'˜Through meeting many new people, my faith in humanity has been restored. '˜Every morning, I look forward to getting up and walking. I've had a fantastic journey with many memories I will be taking home.'
