Have your say

MORE than 5,000 people are expected at one of the area’s biggest free fireworks displays.

Havant Borough Council is pulling out all the stops for the Stockheath Common event tomorrow.

As well as the display, which begins at 7.30pm, there will be stalls and children’s rides.

Councillor Leah Turner, the mayor of Havant, will light the bonfire at 7.30pm.

She said: ‘We’re proud to provide a safe, secure and spectacular event for Havant’s residents.

‘I will be happy to start the bonfire on the night.’

Stockheath Lane and Alsford Road will be closed from 4pm and Riders Lane from 5pm.

Visitors have been urged not to take their own fireworks to the display.
