SHE spent years growing her hair down below her waist.

But Sophie Dulake decided to cut a large chunk of it off to help children who have lost their hair through cancer.

The 17-year-old, who is studying child care at Highbury College, was inspired to donate to the Little Princess Trust after seeing a friend have the chop.

Sophie, of Pyle Close, Cowplain, said: ‘I wanted to make a difference to a child’s life so I felt that by raising money and donating my hair would be a great way.

‘I have raised over £200 so far and I ended up having 12 inches cut off my hair. I was going to have seven off but I realised that I could definitely give more to the child so I donated 12 inches.

‘I feel so proud of myself for doing it.

‘I really hope I have made my family and friends proud.’
