YOUNG swimmers were given free coach travel for their training camp by a local bus company.

Emsworth District Motor Service stepped in to help Havant and Waterlooville Swim Club, which relies heavily on donations from local businesses to keep the group going.

The club is a team of dedicated swimmers, aged between nine and 17.

They often travel to compete in regional and national competitions and this time they needed to get to Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

The bus company provided a coach to take 17 youngsters to their destination and back.

Caren Austin-Lea, director at Emsworth and District Motor Services, based in Southbourne, said: ‘When we heard about the club’s need for a coach for their training camp, we were keen to get involved. We do what we can to support many local projects and the swim club is such a great cause – they are a truly dedicated bunch. They deserve all the best and we are delighted to be able to help.’
