FREESTYLE footballer Sean Barnes is still on cloud nine after appearing on national television on Saturday night.
The 18-year-old, of Four Marks Green, West Leigh, forms part of the professional freestyle team SBX and their ball skills earned them a place to compete on ITV’s Let’s Get Gold.
Despite a flawless performance, SBX missed out on a place in the finals, as the studio audience voted to put through acrobatic gymnast group Acropolis instead.
Acropolis then went on to win the whole competition and the £100,000 prize.
Sean said: ‘The whole experience was incredible, it couldn’t have been better.
‘And we nailed our performance – it was the best we’d ever done. But Acropolis were the better team in the end, they were absolutely brilliant.
‘It was a bit weird watching it back, it’s not every day you see yourself on the telly.
‘My Facebook and Twitter went crazy at that point. Everyone was sending me messages, even people I don’t know. It was amazing.’
