The Health Clinic, in Osborne Road, opened at the end of June and has already been visited by elite athletes and sports professionals.

The clinic provides an escape from busy life with its six treatments and chill-out space. Treatments include floatation pods, hydrotherapy massages, red light therapy, cryotherapy and a specialist nurse offering IV vitamin drips and injections.

Clinic manager Madison Blowers, from Portsmouth, said all the treatments focus on improving mental wellness and physical recovery, and have a range of benefits.

She said: ‘Flotation is really good for PTSD, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and pregnancies. It’s a heated pod filled with Epsom Salts and it’s a really good stress reliever, it’s huge in London.

‘The hydrotherapy massage bed is really popular with people who want to have a massage but don’t like being touched. It is a Medi-wave heated water bed and has all the benefits of a regular massage just without the masseuse. It increases blood flow and gets into all of your muscles and joints.

‘The red light therapy bed is a non-invasive skin treatment which is clinically proven to reduce signs of ageing and boosts collagen production. It is also beneficial for skin conditions, scarring, pigmentation and stretch marks.

‘Cryotherapy is a great recovery method for a huge range of conditions, it exposes the body to temperatures as low as -130 degrees for up to three minutes and so afterwards your body is filled with endorphins and all the nutrients to help speed up recovery.

‘Our prescribed nurse offers Vitamin B12 injections which help boost the immune system and improve energy levels, and also IV therapy drips which are the quickest way to get vitamins and minerals into your body.’

The self-sufficient treatment rooms offer privacy to visitors who are looking for some time out, and the upstairs chill-out space is available to all clients to use after their treatments.

Madison said their prices are competitive as she wanted to ensure the treatments are affordable and accessible.

She said: ‘There’s nothing else like it in Portsmouth and the nearest for some of the treatments is London.’

The clinic is currently offering a ‘4 in 1 Wellness Bundle’ which offers flotation, cryotherapy, red light therapy and hydrotherapy massage for £99 instead of £129. Additionally, the clinic is offering 10 per cent off selected treatments until December 31 by quoting "The News".
