Thoughtful Fratton 5-year-old to have her long dark hair cut for wig charity
Shaila pledged to chop her locks all by herself, according to her mother.
Mum Tammy Newnham, from Fratton, says that both she and Shaila’s father were initially reluctant to the idea, but have since come around.

‘Shaila said to me “I want to make other families happy because they are sad when they are poorly”.’
Ten inches of Shaila’s waist-length hair will be cut on Saturday in aid of The Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs for children with hair loss through cancer treatment.
Full-time mum Tammy, 29, says that a ‘very persistent’ Shaila became inspired by watching YouTube videos of young girls making similar donations to the trust. Shaila hopes to raise at least £390 – the average amount needed by the charity to purchase a wig. To donate, go to JustGiving.com
