A SUPERMARKET’S Poppy Appeal has raised more than £4,000.

The Royal British Legion was collecting in the Tesco supermarket, on Quay Street, in Fareham.

Simon Beale, store manager, said: ‘I would like to thank the Fareham Tesco customers who have donated a massive £4,464.93 for the Poppy Appeal. It was down to their generosity that this appeal was so successful.’

A team of volunteers held a stall at the front of the store, selling poppies and other Poppy Appeal merchandise, for the week before Remembrance Sunday.
