COMMUTERS faced tailbacks this morning when the lights at Trafalgar Gate went out of sync.

Traffic going in and out of the naval base, just at the bottom of the M275, was given double the time of other routes.

The lights had to be manually operated during rush hour.

Engineers are working on trying to fix the problem by this evening. If unsuccessful the lights will be operated manually again.
