As the rumble from World War Two’s most famous plane passes over Portsmouth crowds are reminded of its 80th birthday.

A spitfire set off from Southampton Airport earlier this morning and flew past at about 12:20pm.

The aircraft was visible from Southsea seafront despite the cloud.
