POP star Alesha Dixon today told thousands of music lovers at the Portsmouth Summer Show: ‘You’re brilliant!’
The Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon told The News the show was a great idea.
She said: ‘We live for days like this when the sun is shining and people come out and forget about all the stresses of the week and they just let their hair down and enjoy themselves.
‘We feel that energy so you can never do enough of these types of shows. It’s brilliant.
‘The crowd were brilliant and it was lovely to get some of them up on stage. It’s always lovely to involve the audience. They are in it with you. They were super supportive and welcoming and hopefully we entertained them.’
The event, held at King George V playing fields in Cosham, is taking place all day today with boy band Blue set to headline tonight.
Other stars set to take to the stage include X Factor winner Matt Cardle and Professor Green.
The event has been set up by the organisers of the Victorious Festival, as part of Portsmouth City Council’s bid to bring more entertainment into the north of the city.
