A TEAM of bank workers put in a flipping marvellous performance as they claimed top spot in their Waterlooville pancake race debut.

Staff from Lloyds, in Waterlooville, entered a team into the town’s annual charity competition and stole the show.

They reached the final heat, up against Havant Borough Council staff, and successfully pipped them to the post.

Bank manager Chris Shilling said: ‘I think it’s pretty impressive for our debut effort.

‘We are donating our winnings to Children in Need which is our charity of the year.’

Bray, the company which runs Waterlooville market, sponsored the event and gave the winners £200 for the charity of their choice.
