PEOPLE are being invited to a rural and seaside show in Southsea.

The free event will take place from Saturday, May 4, until Monday, May 6, at Castle Field in Southsea.

The weekend-long event aims to create a virtual village-by-the-sea, with terrier racing, heavy horse displays in the arena, a vintage garden fete and tea tent, a village pub, donkey rides, craft stalls, morris dancing, children’s rides, and Punch and Judy shows.

A variety of local organisations are involved in supporting the new event. Love Southsea is co-ordinating the vintage garden fete marquee, while Express FM will be providing a compere, running the daily village Olympics, and broadcasting throughout.

Refreshments will be available.
