IT’S going to be the greatest show the city’s ever seen – and now part of the America’s Cup spectacular has sold out.
There are no tickets left for the Waterside Festival Arena for the Saturday and Sunday, the main race days, with those for the official Fanzone Arena going fast.
Leslie Greenhalgh, event director said she was delighted.
‘The Waterside Festival Arena is officially sold out and we only have limited number of tickets available for the Fanzone Arena.
‘Within the first 48 hours of tickets going on sale over 60,000 were booked, which shows the huge interest in the event.’
Tickets remain for the Thursday and Friday where fans can see the opening ceremony, parade of sail, and preview racing.
‘This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to visit Portsmouth and watch the world’s best sailors competing on the world’s fastest boats – it’s going to be spectacular,’ added Leslie.
More than 85,000 bookings have been made since tickets went on sale and all of the 10,000 tickets set aside specifically for people in the PO1 to PO6 postcode went within two days of going online.
Jules Mantle, head of client services, for the event said: ‘For those looking for world-class hospitality, we have packages available for each day of the event.
‘We are aiming to set a new benchmark for quality and entertainment value providing memorable once in a lifetime experiences for our guests.’
