READERS have reacted strongly after BBC Radio Solent presenter Alex Dyke called for Christmas classic Fairytale of New York to be banned from the airwaves. 

He claimed that The Pogues tune was an ‘offensive pile of down market chav bilge’ and called for it to be banned. But on The News’ Facebook page, readers reacted strongly against the call for it to be banned. Here’s what they had to say.
