A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after being hit by a car in Purbrook.

The woman, in her 40s, was walking when she collided with a silver Fiat Punto in London Road at 10.35am.

A police spokeswoman said she has been taken to hospital with a head injury.

Footage taken near the scene shows an air ambulance taking off after the incident occurred.

Police have urged anyone with information on the incident, or dash cam footage, to call them on 101 – quoting the reference 44200105671.
