LAURA Dickson is once again using her musical talents to raise money for two different charities.
The 27-year-old will be performing a piano recital in support of The Rowans Hospice and the Hostel for Girls in Tanzania Project.
The concert will start at 7pm on Friday, September 18, at Park Place in Wickham.
When she performed at the venue last year, the event raised more than £1,000.
Last year’s show saw more than 100 tickets sold prior to the event. However, many people turned up for a ticket on the day to watch Laura perform some classic songs on her piano.
Community fundraiser at The Rowans Hospice, Lesley Clayton, said: ‘This event has proved popular over the last few years and promises to be another lovely evening.
‘We are incredibly grateful to Laura for her continued support and encourage people to buy their tickets in advance as this year’s show is likely to sell out.’
Laura has been playing piano since the age of four, and she won a scholarship at just eight years old, studying music in Somerset and then going on to graduate from the Royal College of Music last year.
She now spends a lot of her time teaching music to others, but loves performing and is always looking to take part in more concerts and events.
Laura chose the two charities that she will be raising funds for because she has a close family friend who is a chairman at The Rowans Hospice, and the Hostel for Girls in Tanzania Project is supported by the residents of Park Place.
Laura said last year’s recital was a great success and can’t wait to perform again this year.
She said: ‘I am so excited to return to Park Place, it is such a beautiful venue and for a fantastic cause.’
Laura will be playing Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin at this intimate concert.
Tickets for the event cost £10 in advance or £12 at the door.
