Pictures show former Portsmouth gay bar Martha's throughout the years

Martha's on Commercial Road has been closed since 2011 and will soon become a Taco Bell. 

The gay bar shut its doors seven years ago on May 30 in a move that came as a shock to regulars. 

At the time two Facebook groups Save Marthas From Disappearing and Rest In Peace Martha's/227 were set up for club goers to remember good times at the venue at the time. 

And the site has become derelict in the seven years since closing, remaining abandoned ever since.   

Now with the announcement that Martha's will be turned into a Taco Bell, The News has dug through the archive to find pictures of the popular gay bar throughout the years.
