ARTIST Sonia Passingham was among those showing work to mark the first anniversary of a popular art exhibition.

Sonia, 72, from Waterlooville, showcased her talents at Art on the Pier at the event, which saw over 500 people attend.

She is one of five volunteers who organised the event on South Parade Pier over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

The exhibition promotes the unique and indivdually handcrafted work of local artists and designers and organisers hope to get young people involved too. Mrs Passingham, a semi-retired teacher of art groups, said: ‘It was an excellent day with lots of enthusiastic interest. It wasn’t all about sales, it was about meeting the public and also one another as artists.’
