Planned roadworks in Central Southern England: weekly summary for Monday 20 June to Sunday 26 June 2016

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement - Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a including the junction 4 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 20 June for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A327.

The southbound exit slip road at junction 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 20 June for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 4 and return.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to M3 southbound and junction 2 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 22 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25, A30 and A322.

The northbound carriageway between junction 3 and 2 including junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 22 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and M25.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4a and 4 including the junction 4a entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Thursday 23 June for 2 nights. Work on Friday will be between 8pm and 7pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A327, A30 and A331.

The northbound exit slip road at junction 4 will be closed between 8pm on Friday 24 June and 5.30am on Monday 27 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the nearest available junction.

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 20 June for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

M3 junction 7 Basingstoke, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. The southbound exit slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 22 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 9. In addition, there will be lane closures on the main southbound carriageway during the same period.

M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 10 Wokingham to 11 Reading, Berkshire: bridge installation

Work to improve road user journeys by installing the new Reading University Bridge near Shinfield continues place this week. The M4 between junctions 10 and 11 will be closed in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 20 June for 5 nights.

During these closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3270 and A329(M).
