M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 2 including junctions 4 and 3 entry slip roads, junction 3 exit slip road and junction 2 northbound clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 26 September for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 4, the A331, A30 and M25 junction 13.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4a including junctions 3 and 4 entry slip roads and junctions 4 and 4a exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 26 September for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place the A322, A30 and A327.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4a including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 southbound, junctions 3 and 4 entry slip roads and junctions 3, 4 and 4a exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 28 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 13 of the M25, the A30 and A327.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4 including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 southbound, junctions 3 entry slip road and junctions 3 and 4 exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 29 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 13 of the M25, the A30 and A331.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4a and 2 including junctions 4a, 4 and 3 entry slip roads, junction 3 exit slip road and junction 2 northbound clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 29 September and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 30 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A327, A30 and the M25.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including junction 3 entry slip road and junction 4 exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Friday 30 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place the A322, A30 and A331.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 3 including junction 4 entry slip road and junction 3 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 1 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A322.

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a damaged area of junction 7 takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the southbound exit and entry slip roads and on the roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 28 September.

M3 junctions 9 Winchester to 7 Basingstoke, Hampshire: communication maintenance

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the communication sensors in the carriageway takes place this week. The northbound carriageway between junctions 9 and 7 will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 6am, on Wednesday 28 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A34 and A303.

M3 junction 13 Eastleigh, Hampshire: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the barrier continues this week. The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 14 October (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M27 junction 5.

M4 junctions 10 Wokingham to 11 Reading, Berkshire: lighting

Work to maintain safety by carrying out maintenance work on the street lighting along the M4 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 14 October (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the eastbound carriageway near junction 12 continues this week. The eastbound carriageway between junctions 12 and 11 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Thursday 6 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4 (Bath Road) and A33.

M27 junction 4 Chilworth, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance takes place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the eastbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 26 September.

M27 junction 7 Hedge End, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound exit and entry slip roads overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 27 September for 4 nights.

M27 junction 8 Bursledon, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance takes place this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 29 September for 2 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 7 and junction 9.

M27 junction 10 Wickham, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the eastbound entry slip road starts this week. The slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 28 September for 4 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A32 Wickham Road/Wallington Way, Delme Roundabout, and then north along the A27 to join the M27 at junction 11.

M27/M275/A27 Portsmouth, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the westbound carriageway near the Portsbridge interchange finishes this week. The westbound carriageway between the A2030 Eastern Road junction (on A27) to junction 11 and the link road from the M275 northbound carriageway to the M27 westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Tuesday 27 September (Monday to Friday only).

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via A2030 Eastern Road, Havant Road, Southampton Road and Porchester Road.

Traffic from the M275 will join the main diversion from the eastbound M27 at the A2030 Eastern Road junction.

M271 junction 1 Lordshill, Hampshire: development

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety as part of the major Lidl development continues this week. The north and southbound exit slip roads at junction 1 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 28 October (Monday to Friday only). Local diversions will be in place.

A3 Send, Surrey: signage maintenance

Work to keep road users informed by improving the signage takes place this week. The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 27 September for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Ockham Interchange.

A3 Burpham to Guildford, Surrey: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the southbound carriageway takes place this week. The southbound carriageway from the Burpham Interchange to the Dennis Interchange (Guildford) will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 26 September for 2 nights. A clearly signed division will be in place via the A3100.

A3 Guildford to Compton, Surrey: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A3 continues this week. The southbound carriageway from the Stoke Interchange to Compton will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 27 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Guildford, the Hogs Back and B3000.

A3 Compton, Surrey: signage maintenance

Work to keep road users informed by improving signage takes place this week. The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 26 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the University Interchange.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: tunnel maintenance

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out tunnel maintenance takes place this week. The Hindhead Tunnel southbound bore will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 26 September for 3 nights. Traffic will run through the northbound bore in contraflow with a 40mph speed limit.

In addition, the Hindhead Tunnel northbound bore will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 29 September. Traffic will run through the southbound bore in contraflow with a 40mph speed limit.

A3 Liss, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A3 continues this week. The southbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 29 September. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

A31 Ringwood, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the street lighting along the A31 takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 26 September for 4 nights.

The slip roads at the Ringwood Interchange will also be closed on separate nights during the same period. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Ashley Heath and Poulner Hill junctions.

A34 / M40 junction 9 Wendlebury, Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the roundabout takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place at the junction overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 30 September.
