Police have appealed for information after a motorcyclist was found dying by the side of the road in Fareham.

Officers believe the man came off his bike after riding out of Fort Fareham Industrial Estate (pictured).

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses after a 58-year-old man was found by the side of the road on Newgate Lane at around 2.15pm on Thursday, September 24 having appeared to have come off of his motorcycle as he left Fort Fareham Industrial Estate.

‘South Central Ambulance Service were called to the scene by a member of the public who found the man unconscious. Paramedics attended but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s next of kin have been informed.

‘He was found by the side of the road and the motorcycle was found in the middle of the road. He was riding a black Triumph Rocket Roadster.’

Police appealed to anyone with information to call them on 101.
