A SERVICE that gives people advice with anti-social behaviour and homelessness has been short-listed for a national award.

Run by Portsmouth City Council, it is an out-of-hours phone line that people can call for advice with their problems.

The service, established in May last year, is up for the 2011 Inside Housing Awards, in association with the Chartered Institute of Housing.

It is one of six finalists in the ‘delivering effective repairs and maintenance’ category.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on November 9.

James Hill, housing manager, said: ‘It recognises all the hard work, dedication and planning that the team have put into place.’
