‘Disgusting’ fly-tipping is putting lives at risk, says Southsea trader

A COUNCIL is set to raise the Commonwealth flag.

Gosport Borough Council will do so for the first time at 10am on March 10, Commonwealth Day. It is the first time local authorities and civic dignitaries are due to take part.

Deputy Mayor of Gosport Councillor Wayne Ronayne is due to read the Commonwealth Affirmation when the flag is raised at Falkland Gardens, overlooking Portsmouth Harbour.

The mayor, Cllr John Beavis, will oversee the event and read a message from the Queen.
