PORTSMOUTH and Southampton’s joint City of Culture 2017 bid has been pushed into fifth place by the bookies.
William Hill has seen a surge of support for Hull which puts the northern industrial port in fourth place with odds of 6/1 compared to Portsmouth’s 10/1.
‘We saw a rush of money for Hull over the weekend, possibly from City fans feeling particularly buoyant after their side’s promotion to the Premier League on Saturday,’ said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. ‘This represents the first big gamble on this particular market.’
Chester is out in front with odds of 4/1.
