A MAYOR is set to pull on his bowling shoes to raise money for two great charities.

Councillor Ken Smith, Mayor of Havant, is inviting teams to take him on at AMF Bowling, Havant, next month.

Cllr Smith said: ‘This popular annual event is one of the key fundraising opportunities in the mayoral calendar.

‘It’s an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and put on their bowling shoes for a good cause. With many of the same teams taking part every year there’s also sure to be some old scores to settle with a friendly rivalry helping to entertain all those taking part.’

The charities are the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Dorothy’s Dream, The Rowans Hospice at Home Appeal.

Teams of six people can enter November 24 competition. The entry fee of £12 per head includes a light buffet.
