Brexit: Police and crime commissioner says police task remains the same

POLICE and crime commissioner for Hampshire Michael Lane has reassured people the task of the police remains unchanged following the EU referendum.

Recently-appointed Michael Lane was speaking after this morning’s result showed the UK will leave the European Union.

‘There will be work to renew and reinforce national arrangements for partnerships – including those in the EU and beyond. ‘And the local impact will be something to monitor and engage about in due course.

‘But today, my task and that of the constabulary continues unchanged.

‘As police and crime commissioner, I wish to reassure everyone that the task remains the same – to work to keep you and your family safer.’
