THERE is still time for candidates to come forward for the next UK Youth Parliament elections.

Young people from Chichester aged between 11 and 19 can stand for the March election.

Councillor Peter Evans, West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for children and families, said: ‘Our MYPs represent the views of young people in their constituency and relate to decision makers at local, regional and national levels.

‘It’s important that the views of young people are heard and used to inform decisions and the MYPs, together with our West Sussex Youth Cabinet, play a vital role in that.’

There are 500 MYPs nationally. South East regional meetings are held every two months for West Sussex MYPs to attend.
