Care home developers to review their plans

DEVELOPERS are '˜disappointed' after their care home scheme was refused at a planning meeting.

Prime Plc are currently reviewing their 75-bed care home proposal for Barnes Lane in Sarisbury Green which was rejected by the Fareham Borough Council planning meeting over concerns of highways issues.

Bob Smaylen, development director at Prime Plc said: ‘We are very disappointed that planning permission for the proposed scheme was refused, as we know how much the facility is needed in the area.

‘There is a real lack of good quality care home places and specialist dementia care, and a majority of the residents we spoke to during our initial consultation welcomed the idea.

‘Over the coming weeks, our team will be discussing the concerns of the planning committee at length and reviewing our plans for the facility, before making the decision whether to appeal.’

Highways objected to the plan due to the proximity of the access to the Holly Hill Leisure Centre access.
