THE public will be given the opportunity to scrutinise a council’s accounts.

Residents can take a look at West Sussex County Council’s accounts for the year ending March 31, 2012.

The accounts, including those of the pension fund, will be available at County Hall, West Street, Chichester, from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday from July 23 to August 17.

People can make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them. There is a charge for photocopying.

Anyone wishing to examine the accounts during the inspection period should telephone the chief accountant Vicky Chuter on 01243 777100 (ext 77868) on weekdays between 9am and 5pm to arrange an appointment.
