Chichester will give refuge to those fleeing Syria

Chichester District Council this week agreed its share of the 240 refugees West Sussex local authorities must give homes to.

Councillor Eileen Lintill said: ‘No-one can fail to be moved by the terrible scenes of those fleeing war and persecution that we have seen on our televisions.

‘These people have been through things that most of us cannot even imagine and deserve to live in a place where they are safe and secure. We are very grateful to all of those within our community who have already reached out to help.’
