College pupils are put through their paces by the Royal NavyÂ
HMS Collingwood's physical training instructors (PTIs) visited pupils studying the college's extended diploma in uniformed public services, giving them a taste of life in the armed forces and emergency services.
The youngsters took on the navy's swim test, followed by press-ups and sit-ups, with a 1.5 mile run around the base to finish off.

Hide AdStudent Ben Hall said: '˜I'd like to be a Royal Navy mechanic, like my grandfather.
'˜This gives you an idea of what to expect when you join up.'
Fellow student Louanne Sprigg added: '˜I want to join the Royal Navy too and this means you get to experience a bit of what navy life will be like.'
Danny Thomas, who accompanied the group, said: '˜Some of the group are returning to HMS Collingwood after competing in the Junior Leaders' Field Gun Competition at the beginning of July.
'˜Fareham College has really good links with HMS Collingwood.'
