COUNCIL forums that discuss local issues in East Hampshire are being relaunched.

East Hampshire District Council has reworked its community forums with a new format which it says will make them more focused on tackling tough local problems.

With representation from a cross-section of groups, including town, district and county councillors, residents, the NHS and the police, leaders say the forums will be able to get right to the heart of matters.

Cllr Hilary Ayer, in charge of localism at the council, said: ‘The new format will provide an effective collaboration between three tiers of local government, partner organisations and residents to meet the aspirations of local communities.’

The community forum for the Petersfield area will be launched at 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 5 at the council chamber in Penns Place.

The forum for Horndean, Clanfield and Rowlands Castle takes place at 6.30pm at Clanfield Memorial Hall, South Lane, on Monday,

July 11.
