CONGESTION, motorway junctions and traffic plans have been discussed this morning at the Welborne hearing.
Residents, councillors and council officials met this morning for the third day of the independent inspection into the 6000-home town.
This morning, transport and access were on the agenda and concerns have been raised on the impact of Welborne on surrounding villages as well as people living in the north of Fareham.
During the discussion, chaired by independent inspector David Hogger, Cllr Pamela Bryant expressed her concerns about the potential effects of Welborne.
She said: ‘There is already traffic issues in Fareham North and I don’t think there is enough evidence on the impact Welborne will have on the area.’
But Hampshire County Council officials have said a lot of data has been gathered and junction 10 should help with traffic issues.
People also voiced their concerns on how data had been collected and whether it truly reflects the traffic in and out of Fareham.
