Consultation starts for IFA2

THE public consultation for the controversial IFA2 plans will begin today.

Taking place at CEMAST in Daedalus Airfield, it will run today from 4pm to 8pm, and tomorrow from 11am to 3pm.

The new plans released by the National Grid showed a 60 per cent reduction in the building’s size.

If approved, the building will allow the exchange of electricity between Britain and France.

Councillor John Beavis explained: ‘The Daedalus site is split between the two boroughs of Gosport and Fareham.

‘It is Fareham Borough Council that has been engaging with the National Grid to build IFA2 within their part of the site.’
