Plans to turn former Portsmouth GP practice into flats approved

Have your say

PLANS for a 24-hour gym have been rejected by councillors over fears it would be too noisy for people living over it.

Anytime Fitness wanted to turn the ground floor of flats in Portsmouth Road, Cosham, into a gym.

But 33 residents wrote to the council to object, raising concerns over parking and noise.

Paul Terill, whose partner lives above, wrote: ‘We really don’t want to be hearing banging noises of the weights being dropped on the floor and loud music late at night.’

Portsmouth City Council’s planning committee rejected the plans as it would cause ‘unacceptable levels of noise and disturbance’ to those living above.
