THREE councils are joining forces to provide services for building work.

Gosport Borough Council agreed at its policy and organisation meeting to allow Portsmouth City Council to join the Building Control Partnership it has with Fareham Borough Council.

The service includes surveying and inspecting buildings and overseeing demolition works and working to resolve any conflicts over access rights.

Councillor Graham Burgess said: ‘This has been a very successful partnership for Gosport and Fareham and I look forward to Portsmouth coming on board.’

Gosport and Fareham could save up to £15,000 a year by Portsmouth joining the partnership.
