EAST Hampshire District Council has pledged to keep its headquarters at Penns Place in Petersfield.

The council’s traditional home is to be refurbished and unused office space will be let to local businesses.

EHDC leader Ferris Cowper said the decision will preserve the identity of the council and protects customer access to services as well as raising income and helping the local economy.

The council is also looking at making it easier for residents to get in touch by improving local offices and improving its online services.
