A FORMER council chairwoman has died.

Pat Seward, 69, the former chairwoman of East Hampshire District Council, died on April 16.

Mrs Seward represented Four Marks and Medstead for a decade.

Current chairman Councillor Chris Graham said: ‘Pat was a small woman with a big heart.

‘She was a real character and she did a huge amount of work for the residents of Four Marks and Medstead.’

Cllr Seward was elected in 2003 and became chairman in May 2012.

She retired from the council after finishing her year in office in 2013.
