HAMPSHIRE MPs have held onto positions in government despite the reshuffle carried out by Prime Minister David Cameron.

Meon Valley MP George Holingbery has held onto his post as private parliamentary secretary (PPS) to Home Secretary Theresa May.

Mr Holingbery said: ‘It’s absolutely fantastic that I’m continuing in this role.

‘It’s a great honour.’

Meanwhile, Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is also continuing her duties as PPS to Nicky Morgan, the new Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities.

Ms Dinenage worked under Tory Mrs Morgan when she was formerly Economic Secretary to the Treasury.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘She is a fine woman to work for and a rising star of the party.

‘She is incredibly good at her job.’
