A GREEN party candidate can stand for election after his crowdfunding scheme was a success.

The Greens’ Fareham candidate Miles Grindey asked online supporters to donate to help him reach the £750 goal he needed to stand for election in May.

His campaign raised £770 in just over a month, which will be spent on leaflets and campaign material.

He said: ‘I’m very grateful to the people who gave to my campaign. People from across the country donated and wished me luck – I’m glad the Greens are able to get involved.’
