A CONTROVERSIAL planning application will go before the council next week.

Gosport Borough Council’s Regulatory Board will decide on the ‘Grand Designs’ house planned for a former cordite magazine in the town.

Developer Alan Dawes submitted the new application after his first design was refused by the council and an independent planning inspector on appeal.
The bid has been surrounded in controversy with residents living next to it in Britannia Way claiming the house would ruin the land which is home to badgers, great-crested newts and other wildlife.
The second application has been amended to protect parts of the site but
around 50 objection letters have been submitted.
The plans will be discussed next Tuesday, at 6pm, at Gosport town hall.
