COUNCIL officers could soon ban dogs from parts of a town, subject to a consultation.
Fareham Borough Council is asking for the views of dog owners on a new Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) which would give the council powers to tackle dog fouling, request dogs be put on leads and exclude dogs from some sites, such as play areas.
People who are registered blind or rely on assistance dogs would be exempt.
An exhibition will display the plans on Thursday, December 6 at Hill Head Sailing Club in Cliff Road, from 8-9.30am.
Residents can also comment on proposals by going to fareham.gov.uk/takingthelead.
The consultation ends on January 14.
